FREQUENCY OF HEARING LOSS IN PATIENTS WITH TINNITUS
Abstract
ABSTRACT:
Background: The hearing loss in tinnitus was increased in sensorineural hearing loss, Normal and also mixed hearing loss in some cases. Tinnitus is high frequently disease with this lower-slope sort of hearing loss. Hearing loss is the most general cause of tinnitus in patients with noise induced hearing loss. Tinnitus severe was dramatically damage in tinnitus patients rather than hearing loss is tinnitus patients with normal hearing thresholds.
Objective: To find out the Frequency of hearing loss in patient with tinnitus.
Methodology: A cross sectional study design performed on a sample of 132 adults both male and female have examined with tinnitus having age from 25 to 50 age limit with convenient sampling technique. Data was collected from October 2021 to March 2022 and Otoscopic, Tympanometry, and Pure Tone Audiometry was used to collect data, investigated and showed with the aid of statistical package for social sciences version 25. The Pearson Chi-square test was utilize to determine the significant level was set as equal as or less than p < 0.05.
Results: A Total of 132 adult both male and female assessed to know the type and degree of hearing loss in patients with tinnitus. Of these, 66.7% sensorineural hearing loss due to age-related hearing loss, 19.7% normal and 13.6% mixed hearing loss. No Significant values have showed (p < 0.05) in patient with tinnitus.
Conclusions: The result showed hearing loss in patients with tinnitus are mostly sensorineural hearing loss.
