TYPE AND DEGREE OF AGE-RELATED HEARING LOSS
Abstract
Background: Age related hearing loss (ARHL) is dominant in closely two-thirds of adults aged 70 years. ARHL is categorized by poor speaking communication considerate particularly in noise environment, damaged mastoid, and central auditory system deficits. ARHL was increased in inner ear hearing loss is sensorineural hearing loss and also mixed type of hearing loss in some circumstances. Adult-related hearing issue is mostly established between age-related hearing loss of adults and is therefore a worth deliberation of people well-being resourcefulness.
Objective: To find out the type and degree of age related hearing loss.
Methodology: A cross sectional observational study design performed on a tests of 133 adult both male and female have diagnosed with tinnitus having age from 45 to 65 age limit with convenient sampling technique. Data was collected from October 2021 to March 2022 and Otoscopic, Tympanometry, and Pure Tone Audiometry was used to collect data, investigated and calculated with the help of statistical package for social sciences version 25. Pearson Chi-square test was utilize to determine the significant level was set as equal as or less than p < 0.05.
Results: A Total of 133 adult both male and female assessed to know the type and degree of presbycusis due to old age. Of these, 92.5% sensorineural hearing loss due to old age hearing loss and also 7.5% mixed hearing loss. No Significant values has been seen (p>0.05) in type and degree of presbycusis.
Conclusions: The sort of presbycusis is mostly found sensorineural hearing loss.
