Abstract

The paper focuses on design, simulation and practical implementation of threat detection in radar warning receivers (RWR), by estimation of radar parameters using pulse descriptive words (PDWs). The author discusses detection of radar type by utilizing information such as pulse repetitive interval (PRI), time of arrival (TOA), angle of arrival (AOA), radio frequency (RF) and pulse width (PW). The author also discusses the digital signal
processing (DSP) algorithms implemented during the research. For this purpose, the software employed were MATLAB and LabVIEW, and practical implementation was done using FPGA and DSP hardware.
